Statement and Vision of the Latino Professional NetworkThe LATINO PROFESSIONAL NETWORK is currently one of the largest associations of Latino professionals and students in the country. Based in Los Angeles, the LPN serves as an umbrella organization that brings together Latinos from diverse professions and educational backgrounds in the spirit of unity and family. The LPN’s mission is to empower Latino professionals by providing them with the tools they need to succeed in their professional lives and by surrounding them with an expansive support group of over 12,000 Latino professionals. Additionally, we are mindful of the need to create a pipeline between professionals/ employers and students. As such, we are taking affirmative steps to foster mentor/ mentee relationships and ensure that students secure worthwhile internships while in college and fulfilling employment upon graduation. The LPN is also cognizant of our obligation as Latino professionals to utilize our skills, resources, and education to effectuate positive change in the Latino community at large and lend a hand where one is needed. As such, we are in the process of forming collaborative partnerships with non-profit agencies and community organizations.
The LATINO PROFESSIONAL NETWORK also realizes that because it represents such a large and diverse population, the organization stands in a unique position to advocate certain issues on behalf of our members. In order to gain a better understanding of these issues and obtain as much insight as possible, we are actively forming advisory roundtables comprised of the principals of other organizations and experts. We encourage your participation.
The LATINO PROFESSIONAL NETWORK is also initiating an active campaign with Corporate America and the media to ensure that the recent explosion of positive awareness of Latino culture within mainstream culture continues to grow and expand. From the board room to the silver screen, the LPN wants to ensure that the accomplishments of our people are highlighted and fully recognized.
In very simple terms, the LATINO PROFESSIONAL NETWORK is about ACCESS. Providing ACCESS to the business, financial, political, and legal institutions that shape our lives. Providing ACCESS to educational opportunities in an effort to expand the dreams and thoughts of our young people. Providing ACCESS to the technology that will empower us. Providing ACCESS to the policymakers so that they may be responsive to the needs of our people. And providing ACCESS to each other, so that we may not only form business-business or business-consumer alliances, but so that we can develop friendships. And in a seamless fashion, a community is transformed into a family.
